Dadaya High School Excels in Orate Games

 Dadaya High School’s debate, quiz, public speaking, and spelling bee teams have returned triumphant from the annual Orate Games held at Sacred Heart College. The teams showcased their exceptional skills and brought home several top positions, solidifying Dadaya High School’s reputation as a powerhouse in academic competitions.

Competing against renowned schools such as Regina Mundi High School, Loreto High School, Midlands Christian College, Sacred Heart College, Shungu Boys High School, and Chaplin High School, Dadaya High School stood out among the best.

Impressively, Dadaya High School’s quiz team clinched the first position, surpassing six other teams in the thrilling competition. Tawananyasha Gwete, Nancy Matutu, Dumisani Msiza, Tinotenda Moyo, and Prosper Chifunyise worked collaboratively to demonstrate their extensive knowledge, leaving their competitors trailing in their wake.

In the debate competition, Dadaya High School once again secured the top spot, besting six other participating teams. The team, comprising Tafadzwa Tagwira, Takudzwa Tabinga, Anesuishe Kupa, and Anotida Musavengana, skillfully presented compelling arguments and rebuttals. Their outstanding performance earned them a well-deserved victory.

Dadaya High School also showcased their oratory prowess in the English Public Speaking category. Tafadzwa Tagwira secured the fifth position among 50 participants, while Takudzwa Tabinga claimed the ninth position. Darrel Chiremba’s remarkable talents landed him the seventeenth position, making Dadaya High School proud.

Not only did Dadaya High School excel in English, but they also distinguished themselves in the Shona and Ndebele Public Speaking competitions. Friden Zhou secured the second position out of six participants in the Shona category, while Takudzwa Tabinga replicated the achievement in the Ndebele category, outshining nine participants. Additionally, Darrel Chiremba showcased his capabilities with a seventh-place finish among nine participants.

These impressive results have earned Dadaya High School the opportunity to participate in the National Orate games, scheduled to be held from 8 to 11 August 2024 in Beitbridge. The teams will now prepare to compete on a larger platform, representing Dadaya High School at the national level.
